Remember No More

I have been contemplating on a revelation I received several years ago about the Blood of Jesus. I want to show you a different facet of the Blood that you may not have considered or thought about before. We have all heard that the Blood of Jesus will cleanse us from all unrighteousness and  that it can bring physical healing to our bodies. I want you to consider something else. All of us have things that we have had to overcome in this life, be it abuse, a death of a loved one, a painful divorce etc.  One of the tricks of the enemy is to bring back those painful memories. And for some, if you have not allowed God to heal those areas of your life they can become triggers for you.  God is always in the healing business. His promises to us are YES and AMEN. Anytime you have a wound in your soul it is imperative that you go to God to allow Him to heal this area.  These wounds are what keep people in cycles or patterns of behavior that they repeat over and over again. Th...

Quick catch up!

Hey everyone! I know I made some of you angry with my last post. That is never my intent, however, I am compelled to tell you the truth. God has a purpose and a plan for each and every one of you. Fornication or sex outside of marriage only robs you of God's best! It does not make Him love you less, but it robs you of His blessings. It also keeps you from fulfilling the purpose. The very reason you are here on this earth. And it is SIN - Sin keeps you from God's presence. Some of you need to go to a Holy Ghost service and experience His presence!  Everything God put in his Word is for our benefit.  Let me ask you... what priority do you put on reading or listening to the Word? What priority do you put on prayer??  These two things are what will sustain you in this life.  Are you an active member in the body? Do you serve somewhere? Whoever decided that is okay for you to not attend church lied to you!  Church is where you are continually fed, but it was nev...

And the Truth will set you free!! Part 1

I'm seeing a trend that is bothering me. It is in the aspect of Truth.  When did the truth become hate? When did it become no longer important?  Why are kids getting persecuted for talking about Jesus? Why is praying in schools now an issue? Why is there so much fornication in the body of Christ? Why is prayer an afterthought when we are in trouble when it is suppose to be a lifestyle? Today I'm going to address some issues and bring to light some items that have been covered in darkness. I realize this post may not make everyone happy, but Jesus did not make everyone happy so I think I'm okay.   Here are a few scriptures to lay a foundation, and I may mention a few more along the way. Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Psalm 86:11 Tea...

By His Stripes!

As many of you know, about five years I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance. Unfortunately, what I wasn't told was that the longer I went without gluten the more my body was poisoned by it. I did go gluten-free but since it is hidden in so many different forms, and with cross contamination, it became a real battle for me in eating. I found myself almost fearful eating out anymore. I had to be so careful. A bite of wheat or gluten could send me to bed for two days. It was frustrating! And more and more I started praying for God to deliver me. Back in November, we were at our home church in Atlanta. They were having camp meetings and I heard a fantastic sermon on healing. I've heard many sermons on healing but this was different. The speaker was Dr. Sandra Kennedy. I had never heard of her prior to this service. What I can tell you is that I received the Word that night that By His Stripes I was healed 2000 years ago! I believed the Word that she spoke.  It took me a we...

He who is without sin - throw a stone at her first

Larry and I have been listening and reading the gospels over and over this year. I'm a very black and white person and I do not see many shades of gray, but I'm developing new eyes, eyes of compassion. I read things and I'm compelled to pray. My prayer this past year is that I want to see people as Jesus does. I'm a follower of End Time Headlines. I like to read about what is going on in the world. It grieves me most of the time, but what really grieves my heart is the way other believers turn on one another. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3 it says, " Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day (of Christ's return) will not come unless the falling away comes first..." Before Christ comes back the Bible talks about the great falling away in the body of Christ. And we are seeing that all over the world as denominations accept sin, and people turn from a holy lifestyle.  But even more troublesome is the way we behave when someone, or a church, or a denomination,...

Is it the end??

Earthquakes, rumors of wars, economic downfalls, the stock market crashing - these are just a few of the many things talked about in the news today.  I hear people talking about stocking weapons and food and I hear the fear. The fear in their voices and it is almost overwhelming.  And for me it has been disheartening.  So much of what the bible talks about regarding the end time events we are seeing. So what do we do?? I've been praying for some time and I keep hearing the same message from the Lord. Have the heart of a champion! Don't fear! I've been praying over this word for some time now.  I'm sure when David faced Goliath he was scared. I'm sure when Daniel was in the Lion's den there was some fear. I think sometimes fear is a natural response when situations come. But the Word says to FEAR NOT ! This is not the time for us to cover our faces and hide our heads in the sand.  We can't sit down and watch the Goliath's in our nation rule and rain an...

The Passing of a Dear Friend

I received a phone call informing me of the death of a sweet friend of mine in Atlanta. I was shocked when I heard the news as I had recently spoken with her about her coming to visit. She kept telling me she was jealous of what God was doing here in Cleveland and all that I was sharing with her. Kathy always wanted to be in the presence of Jesus. She was a faithful attendee at early morning prayer and at most services at World Harvest. She loved to be in God's glory all the time. And now she is with Him and in His glory. For to be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8 In fact, we had a great talk recently. She and I were both at the church waiting on the arrival of Larry, and her daughter Gabby. Both attended the Encounter conference and she was anxiously awaiting her daughter's arrival. She was excited to hear all that God had done in her daughter's life during the past few days. I was able to share some of what I knew and she told me she was next. S...

The Aftermath of the Storm

What do you do after the storm? When the storm hits in life all we can do is hold on, doing whatever it takes to survive.  But what about after the storm? In Florida we have hurricanes and while I was in Texas two came barreling through Orlando. I saw the news reports and saw all of the devastation. You look around and see this mess left behind. Sometimes life brings storms and you turn around and your life is not what you expected it to be. Where your dreams are shattered around you and it seems like all is lost. When you are not where you thought you would be.. when life happens and it isn't the way you believed it would be. When you prayed and fasted and believed the Word but it did not turn out the way you wanted it to be. When that love one dies, your spouse walks away, you lose your job, or you lose the house, or the car and you are wrecked! I wonder if this is how the disciples felt after Jesus was crucified. They had all of these lofty dreams and pictured an entirely diffe...

Anchor of my Soul - Mind, Will & Emotions

When I was a little girl, my father had, in the bathroom, one of those bible promise books. I would search and search and be frustrated that the only answer given, for all of my areas of frustration, was a bible verse. I had no understanding how much power was in the word of God. I did not  understand  that those words could bring me life and healing to my wounded soul. That the Word of God was truly promises for me! I heard a very powerful scripture recently that really resounded in me.  Heb 6:19   This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.  It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus is an anchor for my soul.  I have heard that verse and have read it before myself, but there are times when you read or hear the the word that it becomes LIFE to you. A Rhema word! An anchor is used to keep a boat from moving, from drifting away during wind or high current. It keeps the boat still. I'm not sure about you , but I n...

Gluten Free Meatballs - Caribbean/ Teriyaki

As some of you know, I found out I was severely allergic to wheat a few months ago.  Of course, what I was not told was that once I eliminated wheat from my diet, it would make me sick whenever I was exposed to it again.  And it varies, sometimes it makes me so tired I can sleep immediately, it makes my stomach swell like I'm pregnant, I get foggy in my head, sometimes I get stomach cramps etc. - I'm sure you get the point. Had I known about that I would have gone on a wheat fest before I gave it up. Larry has a moderate allergy so it doesn't affect him immediately when he eats it and he has milder symptoms. So I started playing with some of my old recipes to see if I could make some things either without flour or with another substitute. Many of the recipes I read that are gluten free include something called Xantham Gum, but I try to stay away from those items that are not really food. So you will not see my recipes involving that item. I have successfully converted my...

Special Announcement about my book

I'm really excited about my book.  It has been on my heart for so long and I'm looking forward to its introduction to society. However, I could not shake the fact that the book wasn't complete and maybe I was not ready. I spoke to another Christian writer and, as she spoke, I felt like I was about to make the same mistake she made with her first book. It is easy to get rushed, the excitement of the new book, the rush of Christmas, and all of the fun involved with bringing out a new book. I struggled back and forth on the book and then I had the dream. I love when God speaks to me in dreams. It confirms my inner struggles and sometimes provides direction when I am unsure about things. In the dream, I was talking to my brother, Wade. And Wade was talking to me, after having read the book. Basically he told me the book was not encouraging and I needed to add more!  And really for me, it was confirmation that the book isn't complete.  I have struggled with what to put i...

Vertigo - NO MORE!

Last Thursday, I started feeling weird. A little unsteady on my feet. Larry had felt bad the day before so I figured he had a virus and it was trying to attach itself to me.  Friday morning I woke up and immediately, when I opened my eyes , I knew something was not right. When I opened my eyes the world moved, I blinked and it moved again. Now, me, being the stubborn person I am, got up and then the world really spun. I got up determined to  brush this off and get some coffee. You know, some mornings, all you need is coffee, and a little worship and the day is better. I walked towards the door and fell into the wall. I kept walking from wall to wall into the kitchen. I swayed like I was walking on a boat. I got into the kitchen and swayed over to the coffee cups. I am already speaking the Word.. by His stripes I am healed as I take down the coffee cup and sway to where the Keurig machine is. I put the cup down and missed the spot where it goes. I gave up on the coffee, realizi...

Many are the afflictions...

I recently heard about a person who is angry at God because of an affliction. I hear many people talk about being angry at God.  God gets blamed for bad churches, bad Christians, and the list goes on.  I feel impressed to share some things on my heart.  I think people have forgotten what Christianity is all about. Christianity has NOTHING to do with your denomination.  It has nothing to do with your church service or who your pastor is.  Christianity is about a relationship with you and your Savior.   I have never read in the bible that troubles will not come to you once you become a Christian. We are not dancing through the tulips. I will go so far as to say, that if you want to do great things for God -watch out! The devil will put a mark on your and chase you down the rest of your days. Do we have dominion? Absolutely! We have no reason to fear because greater is He who lives in us, that he that lives in the world. But he is not going to sit by and le...

My mental illness

I was recently asked to speak at a homeless shelter. I'm always excited to have a chance to share the gospel or preach the word. I was a little concerned  however, on what I would speak on. Larry and I had a brief moment in life when we were homeless. A house that we were renting went into foreclosure and one day a sheriff was at our door telling us we had to be out in 2 hours. Now, I'm blessed to have a great family and friends that lived in the same town. A good friend let us use his storage - we stayed with family so never without a roof over our heads. So that wasn't entirely the same thing..  Plus some people are homeless because they choose that. They like having no responsibility at all and they choose that way of life. Others are homeless due to job loss, drugs, mental illness, veterans with post traumatic stress disorder etc. I was in prayer one morning and I was seeking the Lord about this. And I heard the Spirit say, "why don't you speak on your strugg...

Be encouraged today!

Last night at church we had a Praise and Worship service. I love love love worship nights like this.  I'm more of a worshiper so I really enjoy those songs where I can block everyone out and get on my face before God. Praise songs are fabulous but after a few of them I'm ready to get into the Holy of Holies to see what my God has for me. At one of my former churches we used to have Friday night worship services every week and it always amazed me the tangible presence of God that would be in the air. You could feel the presence of God. The Word says that God inhabits the praises of his people. (Psalm 22:3) One thing i should mention. During the time of worship I told the Lord - you know what Lord? Whatever you want to do. Not my will but yours and I'm surrendered  to you. If you want me to go this way I will go this way etc. I am yours Lord. Something happens when you truly come to that place of surrender. Anyway, last night was amazing, and what the Lord showed m...

A birth mom's story

Image
For those of you who have been reading my blog and following along - some of this will be familiar as I spoke a little about it in my first blog. I was 24 when I found out I was pregnant.  I would love to be able to say that we were in love and it was an accident, but at that point it my life my getting pregnant was just another mistake to add to my very long list. His life however, was not a mistake. God has a plan for him just like he has a plan for each of us. My car had died, and my life was unraveling. I had no money and was in a mess! You know, abuse changes you I don't know how else to say it.  It makes you temporarily insane and it takes the healing power of God to make you whole again. I was out making my way in the world using the skill I knew best. I believe that the devil has a counterfeit life for you. Just like he has a counterfeit for everything else God has. And I was living the devil's will for my life truly believing that was all I was good for.  Not a...

Overcoming fear - AGAIN

For most of my life I have lived with fear. My mom struggled with fear and I'm sure all of the abuse I had as a child didn't help me any. But I was afraid of the dark, afraid of being kidnapped, afraid of snakes, etc etc When I was in elementary school I was so scared especially at a new school to get up and go the bathroom that I would hold it for an extreme period of times and sometimes not make it to the bathroom. I thought it was just normal that everyone had fear of some sort. And then in my early 20's I heard a teaching on the spirit of fear and my eyes were opened! I didn't have to live my live in fear. I went up for prayer and they got rid of that tormenting spirit. And you know what?? It is a TORMENTING devil!  And for the first time in my life I experienced a level of freedom. I learned I didn't have to live with being afraid. Not that I wasn't tempted to be afraid but it is okay to feel fear and not let it control you. It's natural if someone jum...

Larry is moving back to Florida

Today started a new phase in my marriage as Larry drove back to live in Florida without me. And even though it is temporary I find myself living alone in Atlanta tonight. The place I hate and do not want to be! Funny how God works sometimes. Who knows, maybe after this season is over I will have a love for my new home that comes out of a newness from God. Larry and I are not separating or having any marital problems but his nanny is moving to heaven and needs full time care. His mom and uncle have been the primary care takers but both were exhausted and after our last visit there Larry and I both felt like he was to be with them to help.  So he transferred back to Publix in Florida and will be there for the next 2-3 months. Hopefully not much longer but I know God has a plan in this. I took his moving really hard up until today. That is what I wanted to write to you about. I always want to be transparent. No one has ever arrived and Christianity is always about learning and growi...
